Hammel Skunks New York (A), 2-0
|
Jason Hammel was dynamite at Fenway Park, blowing away the New York (A) Yankees in a shutout victory. The Boston Red Sox starter had everything working as he held the Yankees to 1 hit in the 2-0 win.
"He was pure nasty out there today," said New York (A) skipper Brett Fogerson. "I don't think any team in the league would've had a chance against what he was bringing."
Hammel finished the game with 6 strikeouts and 3 walks.
Thus far this season, Hammel has posted a 7-6 record, started 15 games, struck out 75 batters in 101 innings and compiled a 4.72 ERA.
