Diamondbacks Lose Big to Marlins, 10-1
|
The Miami Marlins downed the Arizona Diamondbacks, 10-1. The hitting star was shortstop Jim Pendleton. Pendleton went 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Marlins. Steve McCatty, the winner, is now 1-0. He struck out 6 and walked 3 over 6 innings, while allowing 1 run on 3 hits. Miami is now 4-5.
With Miami leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Pendleton hit a 2-run single off Arizona hurler Mike Nagy. It was the 8th hit of the season for Pendleton and put his team ahead, 3-0.
