Montreal pitcher Dillon Gee did his part in helping his team beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Gee, now 6-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. With the victory, the Expos record stands at 49-33.

Montreal took a 4-3 lead on Billy Goodman's 11th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Goodman hit in the bottom of the seventh, left St. Louis pitcher Kyle Gibson visibly frustrated.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Gee.
