Red Sox Flatten Guardians, 10-2
|
The Boston Red Sox pinned a convincing loss on the Cleveland Guardians, 10-2, at League Park. Mike Shannon was a main factor in the win. He went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for Boston. The last-place Red Sox own a record of 29-56.
Boston used the clutch hitting of Roman Quinn to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Red Sox the lead, 4-2. For the game, Quinn had 1 single and 1 double in 2 at-bats.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Boston manager Doug Morton.
