Arizona Tacks 5-0 Loss on San Francisco
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks and San Francisco Giants completed their game despite the rain.
Diamondbacks right fielder Jim Marshall put his stamp on his team's 5-0 win over the San Francisco Giants. Marshall slugged 2 home runs for Arizona in the contest. Mike Nagy was the winner. He's now 7-7. The loser was 31-year old left-handed pitcher Doug Rau.
The Diamondbacks got a big at-bat from first baseman Jim Bottomley. For the game, Bottomley was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 28th home run of the season gave Arizona a 1-0 lead.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Bottomley told the Arizona Observer.
The Giants, at 36-46, have lost 4 in a row.
