Fernando Martinez was a major factor in the 6-2 Colorado win over Miami. The Rockies designated hitter was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Colorado reliever Darrell Rasner picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Boom-Boom Beck was saddled with the loss. The win hiked the Colorado record to 42-34.

With Colorado trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Martinez hit a fastball from Boom-Boom Beck for a 2-run home run. It was his 15th home run of the season and put the Rockies ahead, 2-1.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Martinez said after the game.
