Cubs Prevail, 6-4, Over Montreal
|
Getting a good performance from left fielder Tim Raines, the Chicago (N) Cubs defeated the Montreal Expos, 6-4. Raines was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Cubs. Chris Holt, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 8-4. Matt Albers was credited with the save for Chicago (N), his 6th of the season.
Chicago (N) right fielder Billy Burns helped the Cubs go up, 4-3, in the top of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Burns hit a run-scoring single off Montreal pitcher Jonathan Broxton.
