Expos Rally to Win, 5-4
|
The Montreal Expos did just enough to secure a victory over the Boston Red Sox, 5-4, in 11 innings at Stade Olympique. Nobody did more than pitcher Doug McWeeny. Montreal reliever Bob Lee picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Luis Avilan took the loss. The Red Sox, at 24-46, have lost 6 in a row.
The Expos got a clutch hit from left fielder John Hale. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Expos.
"This team keeps racking up the wins," said Expos manager Marwan Najdawi.
