Red Sox Lose to Expos in Walk-Off
|
The Montreal Expos racked up a win at Stade Olympique, bumping off the Boston Red Sox, 4-3, in 11 innings. John Dopson, who started for Montreal, pitched effectively for his team. Montreal reliever Rex Brothers picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Raul Alcantara absorbed the loss. Montreal has now reeled off 7 straight wins.
The decisive blow was delivered by Todd Hundley in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a solo home run off 42-year old right-handed pitcher Raul Alcantara to win the game for Montreal. The home crowd went nuts.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Montreal manager Marwan Najdawi.
