Kevin Ritz, who finished 4th in the AL in strikeouts with 174 in 1999, never let the Diamondbacks get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Yankees to a win, 4-1. The Yankees improved to 35-32.
