Giants Drop Another One, 6-2
|
Thanks in large part to catcher Todd Hundley, the Montreal Expos beat the San Francisco Giants, 6-2. Hundley was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. John Dopson, the winner, goes to 6-5. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts over 7.1 innings. The 7th-place Giants have dropped 4 straight games.
The Expos got a big at-bat from first baseman Adam LaRoche. For the game, LaRoche went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Montreal a 2-0 lead.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Montreal skipper Marwan Najdawi.
