Milwaukee got a strong outing from Pete Smith as the Brewers defeated the Boston Red Sox, 3-2, at Fenway Park. The win puts Milwaukee at 4-3.

The Brewers benefited from a costly error in the top of the seventh. With Gary DiSarcina at bat and Milwaukee leading 2-1, the Boston miscue allowed Milwaukee to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.

"I was a little disappointed," said Boston manager Doug Morton. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
