Victory Over Diamondbacks Takes New York (N) to 44-17
|
New York (N) and Arizona duked it out and the Mets came out victorious.
The New York (N) Mets defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-2, at Chase Field. Leading the charge for New York (N) was designated hitter George Scott. He was 2-4 with a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. John Axford notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 5-0. Bill Gogolewski collected save number 21.
