Yankees Lose, 5-2, to Chicago (A)
|
Getting an impressive start from Nathan Eovaldi, Chicago (A) beat New York (A) by the score of 5-2. Eovaldi yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 9-1. The win lifted the Chicago (A) record to 38-24.
Johnny Moore had a big 2-run home run for the White Sox in the top of the first inning. With Chicago (A) leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from Kevin Ritz, who is tied for 10th in the AL in wins with 6, and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the White Sox on top, 3-0.
"Nathan has got a slow heartbeat," said Chicago (A) manager Steven Ejercito. "He doesn't panic or anything."
