Chris Holt, who is a two-time All-Star, never let the Giants get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Cubs to a win, 6-1. Holt picked up the win for Chicago (N), going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. The loss drops San Francisco to 4-2.

Bill Wilson had a big 2-run home run for the Cubs in the top of the fourth inning. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Cubs on top, 5-0.
