Baltimore pitcher Lou Fette had a large part in his team subduing the Chicago (A) White Sox, 6-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Jonny Venters picked up the save for Baltimore, his 10th of the year. The Orioles bumped their record to 32-26 with this latest triumph.

Wayne Comer helped out the Baltimore cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the center fielder drew 2 walks.

"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Fette.
