The Chicago (A) White Sox faced a tough opponent in Texas pitcher Paul Menhart, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Comiskey Park by a final score of 5-3. Menhart went 7.2 innings and allowed 5 runs. Kevin Appier got the win, improving to 8-2. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 9 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 0. With the win, Chicago (A) raised its record to 33-23.
The White Sox got a big at-bat from second baseman Davis Schneider. For the game, Schneider was 2-4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 3rd double of the season gave Chicago (A) a 5-3 lead.
