Phillies Suffer 7-6 Loss to Milwaukee
|
The Milwaukee Brewers had to overcome a big game from Philadelphia right fielder Ken Griffey to leave Miller County Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-6. Griffey was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Jonathan Broxton, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save. The win elevated the Brewers to 28-26.
Bobby Higginson drove in one run for Milwaukee. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Higginson, who finished 4th in the AL in doubles with 44 last year, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Philadelphia hurler Joel Zumaya, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Brewers a 7-6 lead.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Higginson.
