Mets Collect 7-4 Win Over Guardians
The New York (N) Mets topped the Cleveland Guardians, 7-4, in 12 innings at League Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of New York (N) center fielder Darren Lewis. John Axford claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 3-0. New York (N), at 39-14, is 8 games up in the National League.

Lewis had a game-changing double in the top of the 12th. On a 1-2 cutter from Lee Griffeth, he banged a run-scoring double to center, giving the Mets a 5-4 lead. It was the 15th double of the year for Lewis.

"Exciting game to play in," said Lewis. "Getting the win makes it even better."
