Orioles Beaten By Brewers, 6-3
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Baltimore Orioles and Milwaukee Brewers get after it.
The Milwaukee Brewers picked up a win at Miller County Field, downing the Baltimore Orioles, 6-3. On the mound for Milwaukee was right-hander Tom Brewer, who played a pivotal role in the win. The winning pitcher was Brewer, now 1-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 7. Greg Bollo locked down his 2nd save.
Gary DiSarcina had a big 2-run double for the Brewers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Milwaukee leading 3-2 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Dave Roberts, who led the AL in innings pitched with 240.2 last year, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Brewers ahead, 5-2.
"Tom just settled in and did what he does," said Milwaukee manager Mike Ejercito.
Baltimore is 2-4 after the defeat.
