Chicago (N) third baseman Pat Kelly had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the New York (A) Yankees, 7-5. Chicago (N) reliever Tim Dillard snagged the win, upping his record to 2-3. Robert Garcia shouldered the loss. With this game in the books, Chicago (N) is 29-25, New York (A) 26-25.
With the game tied, 5-5, in the bottom of the seventh, Kelly had a key at-bat for Chicago (N). With the bases loaded, Kelly hit a 2-run single off Robert Garcia, making the score 7-5, Cubs.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Chicago (N) manager Matt Ida.
