Milwaukee pitcher Tom Brewer had a large part in his team beating the Miami Marlins, 7-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Brewer picked up the win for Milwaukee, going 8.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 2-5. The 5th-place Brewers improved to 27-24.

Rich Gedman had a big bases-clearing double for the Brewers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Milwaukee leading 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Steve McCatty and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Brewers ahead, 6-0.

"It's a mindset," said Brewer. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
