Mariners third baseman Chris Brown left his mark on his team's 8-6 win over the Montreal Expos. Brown, who is tied for 4th in the AL in runs scored with 36, was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs for Seattle in the contest. Larry Miller picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Danny Patterson suffered the loss. Bobby Jenks collected his 12th save.

Angel Berroa came through with a big-time hit for Seattle. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 8-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Enjoyed this one," Brown told the Seattle Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The Mariners now have a record of 29-23.
