Rangers Win Nail-Biter in 13
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
The Texas Rangers, despite a fine performance by New York (N) pitcher Nabil Crismatt, grabbed a 3-2 win at Globe Life Field. Crismatt allowed 2 runs over 8 innings. Reliever Javier Assad picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Jeremy Affeldt, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1998 draft, took the loss.
The Rangers got a clutch hit from third baseman Luis Valbuena. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Rangers.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said New York (N) manager Jamie Dagostini, "let me know."
Texas now sits at 20-31, while New York (N) falls to 37-13.
