A 4-RBI performance from shortstop Wil Cordero, who finished 5th in the NL in triples with 8 last year, led the Houston Astros to a win over the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-0. Houston is now 25-25. St. Louis is 19-32.

With Houston leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Cordero hit a fastball from Kevin Morton for a 3-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Astros ahead, 4-0.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Houston manager Claybor Finley. "Our pregame was pretty good."
