Yankees Suffer 6-2 Road Loss
|
The New York (A) Yankees went down to defeat to Ken Chase and his Texas teammates. The final score was 6-2, in favor of the Rangers. The winning pitcher was Chase, now 3-4. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 5. Texas occupies last place in the American League at 19-31.
The Yankees had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rangers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the former first overall pick Eugenio Suárez came to the plate. Suárez hit a 3-run home run on a full count slider from New York (A) hurler Teddy Higuera. It was Suárez's 8th home run of the year.
"I'm happy we won," said Chase. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
