Ventura Hits Two Dingers, Giants Win, 4-3
|
The San Francisco Giants downed the Colorado Rockies, 4-3, at Eclipse Park. Robin Ventura led the way, going 3-for-4 for San Francisco. San Francisco reliever Grant Roberts picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Brad Bergesen took the loss. The current losing streak for Colorado has reached 5 games.
Ventura had a timely hit for San Francisco in the bottom of the eighth. With San Francisco trailing 3-1, he turned a first pitch fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season, making it 4-3, San Francisco.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Ben Thompson told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
