Cubs Raise Rally Flag, Beat New York (N), 3-1
|
In a tight contest between the Chicago (N) Cubs and the New York (N) Mets, Kirk Rueter was the determining factor. The Chicago (N) left-hander sparkled in his team's 3-1 win. Matt Albers, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save. Chicago (N) has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
Bryan Little, who is tied for 3rd in the NL in bases on balls with 25, had a direct impact on the outcome. Little contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Chicago (N) up, 3-1.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Little.
