Milwaukee got a big-time effort from pitcher Homer Bailey, but it wasn't enough to keep the Boston Red Sox from winning the game, 3-2. Bailey threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. The winner was Fred Baczewski in relief. His record improves to 1-4. Greg Bollo took the loss. After today's action, Boston sits at 18-31; Milwaukee slips to 25-23.

Tom Lampkin came through with a big-time hit for Boston. The first baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Lampkin.
