Milwaukee Decked by Brown, Orioles
|
The Baltimore Orioles beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-3, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Tommy Brown, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Kevin Tapani, who finished 3rd in the AL in innings pitched with 245.2 in 1996, was the winner. He's now 4-1. The loser was Pete Smith. Jim Hughes closed the game out for Baltimore, earning his 2nd save.
Early in the game, Brown had a 3-run home run for Baltimore. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Orioles on top, 3-0.
"Tommy was ready to go. Big day for him," said Baltimore manager Andre Ivarsson.
The triumph puts Baltimore at 25-19 for the season.
