Harris Stars in 7-2 Yankees Win
|
The New York (A) Yankees stymied the Cleveland Guardians, 7-2, at Yankee Stadium. Donald Harris had a good day at the plate. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for New York (A). Turk Farrell, the winning pitcher, is now 1-3. He went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 3. The Yankees, at 21-23, sit in 6th place in the American League.
Lonny Frey was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs for New York (A). The three-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Oral Hildebrand. It was his 15th walk of the season.
"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said New York (A) skipper Brett Fogerson.
