Hogan Belts Bunch of Base Hits
It was a sensational day at the plate for Shanty Hogan as he led the charge to a nifty 18-7 win over the Astros. The Philadelphia catcher was pure misery for the Houston pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.

"Hogan put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Claybor Finley, manager for the Astros, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."

Shanty Hogan singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 7th.

Hogan has a .198 average and a .266 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 25 hits, 2 home runs and driven in 17 runs.
