The Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago (A) White Sox, 7-3, at Metropolitan Stadium. Pat McNulty, who finished 5th in the AL in stolen bases with 31 in 1997, starred for Minnesota. Eddie Lake had a big bases-clearing double for the Twins in the bottom of the first inning. "I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," McNulty told the Minnesota Herald.
