The Milwaukee Brewers cruised to a win over the Texas Rangers, 12-4, at Miller County Field. Dale Murphy, who leads the AL in home runs with 16, led the way, going 2-for-4 for Milwaukee. Milwaukee is 5th in the American League with a record of 23-20.

Nicky Lopez, who finished 2nd in the AL in on-base percentage with .433 in 1998, helped out the Milwaukee cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 2 with 2 walks.

Lopez said: "We didn't really let up all day. We kind of kept going and going."
