Giants Pin 4-3 Loss on Arizona
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the San Francisco Giants and Arizona Diamondbacks.
The San Francisco Giants racked up a win at Eclipse Park, bumping off the Arizona Diamondbacks, 4-3. Doug Rau, who started for San Francisco, pitched effectively for his team. Rau yielded 3 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-4. Garrett Olson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 10th save.
Jon Jay had a big run-scoring double for the Giants in the bottom of the fourth inning. With San Francisco leading 3-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from two-time All-Star Matt Young and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Giants ahead, 4-0.
"This was a good win," said Jay.
The Giants improved their record to 20-22 with the win over Arizona.
