Brewers Thrill Fans with 5-4 Win
The Milwaukee Brewers picked up a win at Miller County Field, topping the Chicago (A) White Sox, 5-4. On the mound for Milwaukee was right-hander Tom Brewer. He played a principal role in the triumph. Steve Kline, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The first-place White Sox have lost 4 straight games.

Milwaukee got a knockout punch from Russ Adams. The shortstop hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Mike Ejercito, the Milwaukee manager.
