Seattle Topples Milwaukee, 4-1
The Seattle Mariners trumped the Milwaukee Brewers, 4-1, at Rogers Centre. Seattle center fielder Al Simmons was terrific. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Clyde King earned the win for Seattle. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 4-3. Bill Butland finished to wrap up his 2nd save.

Seattle took a 4-1 lead on Don Mattingly's 12th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Mattingly hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Milwaukee pitcher Homer Bailey visibly frustrated.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Seattle manager Tyler Jorgensen.

Seattle has now won 3 in a row.
