Frey Batters Minnesota Big Time
After his 5-hit effort at Yankee Stadium was tarnished by New York (A)'s 15-10 loss to the Minnesota Twins, second baseman Lonny Frey told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."

He didn't get the win, but the 26-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Twins.

"His swing is getting there," said Yankees skipper Brett Fogerson after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Lonny did that to perfection and we wasted it."

Lonny Frey hit a solo-shot off Rick Rhoden in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Mike Gardiner in the 5th and singled in the 7th.

So far this season, Frey has put up a .269 batting average with 36 hits, 4 home runs and 14 RBIs.
