The Colorado Rockies started the World Series in style, winning on the road against the Seattle Mariners at Rogers Centre by a score of 4-3 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Rockies right-hander Jerome Williams threw 8.0 innings of 2-hit ball.
Williams allowed 2 runs on 2 hits over 8 innings for the Rockies. He walked 5 and struck out 6.
"This was a good win," said Williams.
