Seattle Wins League Championship Series
|
The Seattle Mariners are off to the World Series after an exciting League Championship Series triumph.
Seattle downed the Minnesota Twins, but needed the entire series to do so, with a 10-0 win tonight at Rogers Centre wrapping up the series 4-3.
"It's every guy in this room that made this happen. Without us all pulling in the same direction, we don't win this series," said Don Mattingly, who earned MVP honors for a standout offensive series.
Mattingly put up a .333 with a .344 on-base percentage in the series. He also had 3 home runs, drove in 9 runs and scored 4 runs himself.
The Seattle Mariners will play against the Colorado Rockies in the next round. Colorado won their series against the New York (N) Mets 4 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
