Mariners Clip Twins, 6-5, in LCS Contest
Despite a great performance by Minnesota catcher Lou Marson, the Seattle Mariners defeated the Twins by the score of 6-5 at Metropolitan Stadium. Marson was 2-3 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, but he could not prevent the Mariners from moving one game closer to the World Series. Seattle now leads the League Championship Series 2-1.

Seattle used the timely hitting of Adam Jones to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mariners on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Nice win for us," said Jones. "Now we'll go after the next one."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Metropolitan Stadium in Minneapolis.
