The Colorado Rockies got a strong performance from pitcher Jerome Williams, who stymied the visiting Montreal Expos en route to a win, 9-1, in Game 3 of the Divisional Series. The Expos could never get a bead on the right-handed Williams, who threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The Rockies now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Williams gave Colorado a solid start. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 6 hits over 8 innings.

Said losing manager Marwan Najdawi: "At the end of the day, we've got to play better."
