Home Loss Shrinks Tigers Series Lead to 2-1
|
Already down in the Divisional Series, the Seattle Mariners put on their best show, beating the Detroit Tigers by a final score of 2-0. Sam Jones was special. He threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. Seattle now trails Detroit 2-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
Jones, who was born in The United States, threw 107 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing no runs.
"Sam was the star," said Seattle manager Tyler Jorgensen.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tiger Stadium in Detroit.
