The New York (A) Yankees trumped the Seattle Mariners, 3-2, at Yankee Stadium. New York (A) third baseman Scott Leius was terrific. He was 2-3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The victory makes New York (A) 12-19.

New York (A) took a 3-0 lead on Leius's 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Clyde King in the bottom of the seventh, propelled New York (A) to the win.

"Tough loss," said Seattle manager Tyler Jorgensen. "But we'll learn from it."
