Johnson Finds Groove in 8-1 St. Louis Triumph
St. Louis took on New York (A) in front of a lively crowd.

St. Louis Cardinals starter Si Johnson was in the groove. He led his team to a win over the New York (A) Yankees, 8-1. The Cardinals have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 9th win in 29 games.

The Cardinals liked what they saw from Johnson. The 22-year- old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Yankees to 1 run on 1 hit over 9 innings, and striking out 3.

"Si gave us a really big performance," said St. Louis manager David Mandel.
