Guardians Lose at Home, 2-1
|
The Montreal Expos, behind a great outing from Dave Boswell, who is tied for 5th in the NL in innings pitched with 40.0, defeated the Cleveland Guardians, 2-1, at League Park. T.J. McFarland picked up the save, his 1st. The win has Montreal at 16-10.
Rafael Palmeiro provided a timely hit. The Montreal right fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Expos on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Palmeiro.
