Skip Schumaker was at the head of a Boston hit parade at Globe Life Field. The left fielder went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Red Sox to a nice 13-2 victory over the Texas Rangers.

"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Schumaker told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."

Rangers skipper Kyle Shea said later that the club gave up "too much plate."

"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."

Skip Schumaker singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Don Durham in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

Batting .344 to date, Schumaker has 3 home runs and 17 RBIs.
