St. Louis wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Kevin Morton, falling to the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-3. Morton threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. The win brings the Phillies to 11-8, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

The decisive blow was delivered by Michael A. Taylor in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 3-run home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Joe Genewich to win the game for Philadelphia. The home crowd went nuts.

"I was seeing the ball well tonight," said Taylor.
