Milwaukee Beaten, 5-3, by New York (A)
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the New York (A) Yankees and Milwaukee Brewers.
The New York (A) Yankees used the hitting of center fielder Barney McCosky to subdue the Milwaukee Brewers, 5-3. For the game, McCosky went 4-5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Bill McCahan picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Jonathan Broxton, who finished 4th in the AL in saves with 34 last year, was tagged with the loss. The save went to Yorman Bazardo, number 3 for him.
New York (A) used the timely hitting of Julio Lugo to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Yankees on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Feels good to get the job done," McCosky said after the game.
The loss drops the Brewers to 13-8.
