Mets Get Clutch Win Versus San Francisco
|
The New York (N) Mets weathered a fine game by San Francisco right fielder Johnny Rizzo to upend the Giants, 6-5, at Eclipse Park. Rizzo was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs. New York (N), with the win, is 16-3.
New York (N) relied on the hitting of Charlie Moore to pick up the win. The catcher ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mets on top, 6-5. For the game, Moore had 1 triple and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said New York (N) manager Jamie Dagostini.
